Acupuncture Services at ACME Physio

Contemporary Acupuncture blends the long history and principles of traditional acupuncture with the modern understanding and techniques in medical science, anatomy, and physiology. This approach is evidence-informed and is always performed after a thorough assessment and diagnosis.

Unlike traditional acupuncture methods, it is based on how the nervous system, muscles, and tissues interact. Treatment follows a conventional medical framework and is designed to help the body heal itself by calming irritated nerves, improving movement and reducing pain, both locally at the area of concern and throughout the body to support recovery.

How does it work?

Very thin, sterile needles are placed into specific areas of the body where nerves and muscles are involved, based on your individual condition. In some cases, gentle electrical stimulation may be used to enhance the effect.

These needles gently stimulate the nervous system and trigger the body’s natural healing responses.

This can help to:

  • Reduce pain and inflammation

  • Improve blood flow and tissue healing

  • Relax tight or overactive muscles

  • Calm the nervous system

  • Improve how the brain processes pain

Many patients report feeling relaxed during and after treatment. The benefits often build with repeated sessions.

In short, what can it help me with?

  • Back, neck, and joint pain

  • Muscle tension and sports injuries

  • Headaches and nerve pain

  • Movement and mobility problems

  • Stress-related and nervous system imbalances
