Chiropractic VS Physiotherapy

When people seek treatments for aches and pains, 2 types of professionals are often what comes to mind.

Physiotherapists and chiropractors are both well trained individuals who specialize in treating musculoskeletal conditions. When it comes to which one of the two are better suited for your individual needs, there are many things to think about.

Chiropractic

You may think of chiropractors as the people who provide adjustments that sound like your bones are cracking, but they do so much more than just that.

A chiropractic doctor is someone who specializes in musculoskeletal problems such as neck pains, arthritis, back pains, etc. They primarily focus on emphasizing the relationship between the spine and the nervous system to improve overall health and alleviate pain. Through many different types of interventions, such as chiropractic adjustments, they help patients realign and feel normal again.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a common form of treatment done on those with sports injuries related to the muscles. These types of practitioners mainly use manual therapy in combination with exercises to help promote, maintain, or restore health. These types of practitioners aim to address a broader range of musculoskeletal issues beyond just the spine.

Which One is Better?

There isn’t an answer on which one is better than the other and it is not uncommon for your chiropractor and your physiotherapist to work together in order to provide the best form of treatment possible.

Both interventions are highly effective and the best way to know which one is better for your individual needs would be to go get assessed by one of the professionals.
